Brushless Motors

Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) are more efficient than alternatives of the same size and apply torque better at slow speeds. Other benefits are high torque to weight ratio, more torque per watt (increased efficiency), increased reliability, reduced noise, longer lifetime (no brush and commutator erosion), elimination of ionizing sparks from the commutator, and an overall reduction of electromagnetic interference (EMI).
